Algumas bandas não precisam de muito para chamar sua atenção ou criar algo que cause impacto logo em seu primeiro contato com a música feita por elas. Isso é aplicável à banda americana Boatman’s Toll em seu debut The Fat is in the Fire, que será lançado no dia 5 de Abril.
A proposta da banda é clara e objetiva, conduzir sua combinação letal entre Death e Sludge Metal da forma mais agressiva possível. E banda já deixa isso claro logo nas primeiras faixas, Slumber no More e Corporate Indentured Servitude respectivamente, tratam logo de aplicar golpes severos e potentes nos seus ouvidos deixando em evidência toda brutalidade da banda. E dessa forma a Boatman’s Toll conduz seu repertório repleto de riffs pesados e ritmo insano, a cada faixa você adentra dentro do território hostil criado pela banda, que não deixará você se esquecer disso em nenhum momento, mantendo os níveis de agressividade no limite.A produção do álbum agrada e permite-nos apreciar com clareza a proposta da banda, eu particularmente demorei mais do que esperava para assimilar o álbum em sua totalidade, mas isso não tira seu mérito. Ainda destaco a brutal Nothing Means Nothing e a faixa título, que inicialmente dá indício de que a banda colocaria o pé no freio e seguiria por ritmos mais cadenciados e amenos, mas logo trata de revelar toda sua fúria incontrolável.
A abordagem da banda não apresenta tantas variações, é algo que soará pesado e furioso em todas as dez faixas que integram o álbum. Se você se interessa pela combina entre Death e Sludge, provavelmente encontrá na música da Boatman’s Toll dez razões para escutar The Fat is in the Fire.

Some bands don’t need much to get attention or create something that will impact right away in their first contact with the music they make. This applies to the american band Boatman’s Toll in their debut The Fat is in the Fire, which will be released on April 5th.
The band’s proposal is clear and objective, to lead their deadly combination between Death and Sludge Metal in the most aggressive way possible. And the band already makes that clear in the first few tracks, Slumber no More and Corporate Indentured Servitude respectively, that quickly applies several and powerful blows in our ears leaving in evidence all band’s brutality. And so Boatman’s Toll leads your repertoire full of heavy riffs and insane rhythm, at each track you’ll enter into the hostile territory created by the band, which will not let you forget it at any time keeping the levels of aggressiveness at the limit. The album’s production pleases and allows us to appreciate clearly the proposal of the band, I particularly took longer than I expected to assimilate the album in its entirety, but this does not take its merit. I still emphasize the brutal Nothing Means Nothing and the title track, which initially gives evidence that the band would put their foot on the brake and would follow by cadenced rhythms but soon reveals all its uncontrollable fury.
The approach of the band does not present so many variations, it is something that will sound heavy and furious in all the ten tracks that integrate the album.
